During a hybrid workshop in the Andes region, participants from Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador shared experiences on how their programs link to social-ecological resilience and how to put resilience into practice.

This publication aims to share insights and inspire practitioners in international cooperation to learn with us about the added value of using a social-ecological resilience framework to develop, implement and evaluate development projects.

In a 2-hour workshop in Mbour, a presentation was organized on SECORES, social-ecological resilience, tools to assess resilience, and how Uni4Coop translated the concepts in its outcome on mangroves in Senegal, Guinea, Benin and Madagascar.

On behalf of SECORES, consultants of HUMANYA conducted a study to explain the relation between gender & inclusion and social-ecological resilience and how this relationship can be strengthened within a social-ecological system.

SECORES presented insights and links with actual work in the field during the international conference on “Achieving Inclusive Science for Effective Conservation, Adaptation, and Resilience in the Tropics” of the Association of Tropical Biological Conservation.

This follow-up workshop focused on assessing social-ecological resilience and the application of the SEPLS tool in Burundi; on how participants experience the question ‘resilience for whom?’; and on which synergy actions can be foreseen on marshes.

A two-day workshop was organized in Kigali on demand of the JSF Rwanda with presentations and exchanges on the concepts, application and how to assess social-ecological resilience; and on its link to biodiversity, One Health and agroecology.

The workshop was held in Bamako with 26 participants from Malian and Belgian organizations. After an introduction on resilience, experiences and challenges of resilience in Mali were discussed as well as possible joint future actions.

This 4-pager discusses the link between Social-Ecological Resilience (SER) and the sustainable development paradigm and describes what the added value of the SER-approach is in international cooperation.
